Chery to build facilities near Barcelona
The Wall Street Journal reported last week that Chery Automobile Co is planning a production facility and regional headquarters in Spain near Barcelona.
The report said Catalonian government leaders met with Chery's management and Chinese government officials on Sept 1 to discuss the deal.
The planned facility would begin operation in 2015. The regional headquarters would cost between 800 million and 1 billion euros ($1 billion and $1.28 billion), the report said.
