BYD lowers full-year sales target
Domestic carmaker BYD Co last Tuesday announced to cut its 2010 full year sales target by a quarter to 600,000 units from the former 800,000 units after sold fewer than 290,000 in the first six months.
The adjustment is due to capacity constraints and its strategy to focus on brand building this year, the company said.
Several other domestic manufacturers, including Chery, fell short of their first-half goals as growth in the overall Chinese car market continued to slow in the past four months.
