Foxconn to build new plant in Henan with 300,000 employees
Foxconn Technology Group is planning to set up a new factory in Hebi city of central China's Henan province that will employ 300,000 workers, according to an announcement by the Hebi municipal government on its Web site on June 25.
The announcement confirmed earlier reports that Foxconn would move its production lines from China's coastal cities, such as Shenzhen, to central or northern regions of China.
The company will employ 100,000 staff members to receive training. They may work at the Foxconn factory in Henan after the training, according to the announcement.
It said that the employees will have to work 40 hours per week and the overtime hours are limited to 3 hours a day. The announcement also guarantees at least one day of holiday per week.
The average monthly comprehensive income is around 1,600 yuan (roughly 235 U.S. dollars) to 2,300 yuan (roughly 338 U.S. dollars). The standard wage of the employees passing the three-month appraisal will not be lower than 2,000 yuan per month and the average monthly income will be about 2,500 yuan to 3,000 yuan.
According to earlier reports, Foxconn might transfer most of its production lines from Shenzhen to Tianjin.
