Equipment manufacturing industry improving
The equipment manufacturing industry prosperity index for the first quarter of 2010 jointly compiled by the China Industry Prosperity Index Research Center under China Economic Daily and the China Economic Monitoring and Analysis Center (CEMAC) under the National Bureau of Statistics was published on April 20.
The index reported that the equipment manufacturing industry prosperity index for the first quarter of 2010 is 99.4 points (prosperity standard: 100 points), up 0.7 points compared to that of the previous quarter. The index has been increasing for three consecutive quarters and has already reached the initial level of the rapid growth period between 2003 and 2008 (the level in the first half of 2003). The warning index is 113.3 points, up 20 points compared to that of the previous quarter, and it is still increasing in the green zone.
The increase of the equipment manufacturing industry prosperity index and the warning index reflects that the overall industrial situation is still improving.
