Ford’s Vice President of Engineering for Global Product Development to Keynote Altair Engineering’s Americas HyperWorks Technology Conference

More than 600 professionals are expected to gather at Altair Engineering’s 2010 Americas HyperWorks Technology Conference (HTC2010). Ford Motor Company’s Vice President of Engineering for Global Product Development, Paul Mascarenas, will open the April 27-29 conference at the Rock Financial Showplace in Novi, Mich. with a keynote address titled, “ONE Ford - Accelerating Global Product Development.”

“Leveraging the benefits of innovative digital technologies, such as advanced CAE simulation tools and virtual vehicle assembly, is a key enabler to Ford's Global Engineering strategy,” Mascarenas said. “I look forward to sharing my experiences at the HyperWorks Technology Conference.”

HTC2010 will feature several renowned keynote speakers – from Ford, Porsche, Boeing, BAE Systems, the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) and NASA Engineering and Safety Center (NESC) – as well as 40 presentations where technology thought leaders will discuss industry trends in enterprise simulation and how manufacturers are enabling innovation through simulation.

Presenters and attendees come from a wide range of advanced manufacturing industry verticals, including aerospace, automotive, consumer products, electronics, healthcare, heavy equipment, military, rail transit, ship building and white goods.

“It is important for the advanced manufacturing community to share industry needs, challenges and successes to continue to grow and innovate,” said Mike Humphrey, Americas executive vice president, Altair Engineering. “The economy has reshaped manufacturing; as a result, technology is playing an even bigger role in PLM. Conferences like HTC2010 provide a forum for knowledge sharing across industries to enhance innovation and long-term viability.”

HTC is Altair’s premier annual event and is free for all attendees. The three-day HTC2010 conference will offer sessions on advancements in the areas of simulation-driven design practices, design optimization, data management, process automation, cloud computing and decision support systems. Attendees also have access to an extensive hardware and software exhibition.
