The world's fourth-largest PC maker plans to roll out a cellphone-like new product in April that "could replace the major function of computers", Liu said at a group interview in Beijing on the sideline of the annual Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

But he declined to specify the details of the new product.

Liu said last week that Lenovo had plans to make a product similar to Apple's latest iPad tablet.
