Lenovo Signs IT Strategic Framework Agreement With Turkmenistan
Chinese PC maker Lenovo has announced that it has signed an information technology strategic framework agreement with the government of Turkmenistan to provide comprehensive information services to the country.
Under the agreement, Lenovo will provide information technology equipment and information solutions to many administrations in Turkmenistan, covering education, technology, medical, travel, and business. This is the first time for Lenovo to receive a major information technology contract from a foreign government.
A representative from Lenovo revealed that the company is currently expanding its sales in Turkmenistan through local core channel providers. In addition, it is training local information technology talents. So far, several engineers from the country have participated Lenovo's professional training in Beijing and gained certificates.
According to the semi-annual report of Lenovo, the company's comprehensive sales in emerging markets increased by 10% year-on-year to USD618 million, accounting for 15% of its worldwide sales.
