Lenovo to broaden its markets with online sales
Lenovo will start online sales to boost its global PC consumer markets, said Liu Jun, senior vice president and president of the Consumer Business Group on Tuesday (10.27).
It is understood that Lenovo Idea-branded PCs have been sold in 76 countries and regions, accounting for 95 percent of the potential global PC market. This means online sales will be one of the most important ways for Lenovo to continue expansion of its markets.
However, analysts believe the entire online process must be improved, including more payment options, logistics and after-sales service. Therefore, expansion of online sales for Lenovo will bring a challenge to its service system.
Liu Jun also said mature international markets are the main target for Lenovo's online sales, while in emerging markets Lenovo will depend more on local large-scale distribution channels and retailers.
