Domestic aviation companies' price alliance collapses
China's aviation giants have retrieved the old pricing system recently. This marks the collapse of their so called "prices alliance", which had existed for less than half a year.
Prior to this, due to monopoly suspicion, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) had deployed staffs to investigate the related matters at China TravelSky Holding Company and related airlines.
China Eastern Airlines retrieved the old discount method on September 19. In mid-September, China Southern Airlines also went back to the old pricing system. Shenzhen Airlines, Xiamen Airlines, and Sichuan Airlines and other airline companies had lowered the scale of discount.
At present, many ticket agencies have received the adjustment notice from the airlines. It is expected that the ticket prices will be 10-20 percent lower after airlines turned to the old pricing system.
