China's civil aviation industry records 8 billion yuan profit
China's civil aviation industry has recorded profits of 8 billion yuan so far this year, indicating full recovery, said the Director General of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) Li Jiaxiang at the recently-held 15th World Route Development Forum.
He said that in the future, China will strengthen the composite hub construction of the country's three major gateways – Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai, improve the construction of the trunk network and the promotion of regional aviation development, and strive to establish a more coordinated, comprehensive, efficient and convenient national public aviation transport system within three to five years.
Under the impact of the global financial crisis, in 2008, China's aviation industry recorded losses of 28 billion yuan.
