As rebounding demand for notebook PCs and LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs strongly worldwide has driven Taiwanese PCB (printed circuit board) makers to rev up production, they have effectively fueled their profits for the first half of this year since the second quarter.
Enjoying a 147% surge in profits in the second quarter, Tripod Technology Corp., for instance, effectively scored net profits of NT$842 million (US$25.51 million at US$1: NT$33), or NT$1.8 (US$0.0545) per share, for the first half of this year as the most profitable in the line.
