BorgWarner to supply turbochargers and EGR valves for FAW vehicles
BorgWarner Inc. will supply turbochargers and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valves for various cars and light commercial vehicles manufactured by China FAW Group Co in 2010.
The turbocharging and EGR technologies will help FAW meet China 4 emissions standards, which are equivalent to Euro 4 emissions standards, BorgWarner says in a statement.
"In China, increasingly strict emissions legislation is driving the trend toward turbocharged gasoline engines with smaller displacement. Vehicles are more fuel efficient, more eco-friendly and more powerful," said Roger Wood, President and General Manager, BorgWarner Turbo & Emissions Systems in a company release.
BorgWarner's turbochargers will be mounted on FAW's newly developed 1.3- and 2.0-liter gasoline engines for the compact and midsize car segment. BorgWarner is also supplying EGR valves for the 3.0-liter diesel power unit for FAW's light commercial vehicles up to three tons.
All three engines comply with Euro 4 and China 4 emissions standards, says BorgWarner.
BorgWarner will supply the turbochargers and EGR vales from its plant located in the east China port city of Ningbo.
