NIVS Signs USD20 Million Notebook Contract With Hong Kong Distributor
The Chinese integrated consumer electronics company, NIVS IntelliMedia Technology Group Inc., has signed a contract worth approximately USD20 million to supply OEM notebooks to a Hong Kong-based distributor.
Under the terms of the contract, NIVS will manufacture and assemble 30,000 notebook units for the distributor by the end of 2009. The distributor will then sell the OEM notebooks to end customers in overseas markets. The contract will be reviewed at the end of the year. This is the first contract for the production of notebooks that the company has received to date.
Tianfu Li, the chairman and CEO of NIVS, said that their existing facilities are well prepared for manufacturing notebooks and this would be a great opportunity for NIVS to leverage its technical expertise into a new vertical market.
NIVS IntelliMedia Technology Group is an integrated consumer electronics company that designs, manufactures, markets and sells intelligent audio and video products in China, Greater Asia, Europe, and North America.
