Products made by military department appear in energy saving exhibition
Nearly 20 products made by the General Logistics Department of the People's Liberation Army appeared on the Beijing International Energy Saving and Environmental Protection Exhibition.
The most eye-catching one was a robot which could make more than 400 dishes. The robot, two meters tall "dressed" in brown glass, was programmed by cooks from the China Cuisine Association, said Wang Guixin, Senior Colonel with the department.
A running machine which can generate electricity when man runs on it can have an electric fan work. A kind of special cloth could be heated quickly when provided with electricity, and it can be used to make kneecap or blankets and used in extremely cold environment.
"These are all our new products using world's leading technology," Wang said.
"They are not only energy-saving and environmental friendly, but affordable by ordinary families," he said.
The exhibition, covering 15,600 square meters, starts on Sunday and lasts for four days, said an official with the Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform.
It was aimed to help citizens understand the change they bring to life with small energy-saving behaviors.
More than 300 enterprises, including 44 foreign ones from seven countries like Panasonic, Philips, Siemens and Dell, were attracted to the event.
