Tangshan to build China's multiple unit train base

The government of Hebei Province and China CNR Corporation recently signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement to jointly establish China's multiple unit train base in Tangshan.

Led by Tangshan Railway Vehicle Company, the emerging industry cluster zone will integrate multiple unit train's research and development (R&D), manufacturing, processing and supplementary manufacturing of parts and components, logistics and delivery, education and training, as well as daily life service, in order to develop Tangshan into the R&D base and the largest production and manufacturing base of high-speed multiple unit trains in China.
 
According to the agreement, Tangshan Railway Vehicle Company will accelerate capacity expansion and transformation works for high-speed multiple unit trains.
 
By the end of June 2010, it will realize the capacity of manufacturing eight high-speed multiple unit trains and overhauling four trains (with eight coaches in one train) per month. The annual output of urban rail transit vehicles, including subway, will be raised from 100 cars to 800 cars. It will also attract relevant supplementary enterprises to move into the base to develop the supplementary industry.
