Hasee To Set Up R&D Center In Taiwan
According to Chen Min, vice president of the Shenzhen-based PC company Hasee Computer, with the improvement of the cross-strait relationship, Hasee will enhance cooperation with Taiwan and the company is considering setting up a research and development center on the island.
Depending on the research and development technology resources of Taiwan, Hasee aims to realize its strategic goal of expanding its overseas markets by first using Taiwan as a base.
Chen said that the company is planning to launch an initial public offering on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. In the future, it will have more funds with which the company will integrate resources and buy shares of manufacturing and development-oriented Taiwanese information and electronics companies to form strategic partnerships with them.
In addition, Chen revealed that Hasee has allocated USD400 million for procurement from Taiwan this year.
As one of the largest Chinese PC brands, Hasee sells more than one million desktops, notebooks, and monitors every year. It made revenue of CNY3.8 billion in 2008 and its goal for 2009 is to realize revenue of CNY6 billion.
