Vtech Launches New Energy Saving Phones In hong Kong
Hong Kong's VTech Holdings has added two new models, VT9013 and VT9014, to its environmentally friendly cordless phone series for the Hong Kong market that combine energy savings with a longer talk time.
Hong Kong's VTech Holdings Ltd has announced that it has added two new models, VT9013 and VT9014, to its environmentally friendly cordless phone series for the Hong Kong market that combine energy savings with a longer talk time.
VTech's ECO DECT phone series has an "ECO Mode" function that reduces the overall radio frequency power by 99.9% when it is charging. In talk mode, the handset automatically adjusts and minimizes its radio frequency power according to its distance with the base unit. This cuts the handset's power consumption while at the same time increasing the length of talk time.
In addition to the energy savings from the product itself, VTech has developed more efficient, 100% recyclable packaging. Starting from these new models, only two materials are now used in the packaging, and the box size has been reduced by 20-30%. The packaging is printed with vegetable oil based inks, using fewer colors, and the printing process is alcohol free, further reducing the impact on the environment.
"We have always been a pioneer in cordless phones, and are committed to improve the sustainability of our way of life through building environmental considerations into our product design. We have consistently supported environmentally friendly practices by maintaining RoHS certifications and achieving Energy Star standards. We are proud to devote more effort to environmental protection in our home base of Hong Kong," said Rommy Wu, the director of international sales and market development for VTech Telecommunications Ltd.
