With the delivery of its first aircraft in June this year, the Tianjin final assembly line for the Airbus A320 series will deliver a total of 11 planes this year, of which, six will be A320s and the remaining five will be A319s. It expects to deliver 24 planes next year.

By 2011, it will have a manufacturing capacity of 48 airplanes per year.

The Tianjin A320 general assembly line was officially put into operation on September 28, 2008, said an Airbus official during the recently-held Aeromart Tianjin 2009. Following the two in France and Germany, it is the third Airbus final assembly line, and also the first Airbus final assembly line outside Europe.

Currently, eight Airbus planes are being assembled on the Tianjin general assembly line. Spray painting and engine installation procedures have already been completed for the first A320 aircraft. The second airplane has also been spray-painted and will soon have engines installed.

As the world's most popular single-aisle planes, the Airbus A320 family consists of four models—the A321, A320, A319 and A318. The Tianjin plant will assemble A319s and A320s.
