This new computer insurance edition of the anti-virus software Kingsoft Duba is an insurance product targeting personal computer users, and people who use this product can gain monetary compensation when they suffer system crashes due to viruses and hacking activities.

According to Kingsoft, the computer insurance edition of Kingsoft Duba includes a Kingsoft Duba security package and a PC insurance with a compensation amount up to CNY5,000. The insurance provided by PICC covers desktops and notebooks. Apart from protections against natural disasters and accidents included in general property insurance, the insurance also provides indemnifications especially designed for PCs such as accidental falls, collisions, sudden power outages, impact of abnormal currents, and electrical short circuits. In addition, PICC will compensate for economic losses caused by theft and robbery of computers.

Kingsoft said that one of its user surveys shows that the frequency of hardware destruction of computers caused by accidents is very high. This new computer insurance edition of Kingsoft Duba, which integrates software and hardware protections, is a new part of its 2009 product strategy.
