SEMICON China brings global industry together in preparation for next China semiconductor upturn
SEMICON China 2009 kicks off on March 17 as global executives come together to focus on the industry's next upturn. Now in its 21st year, the exposition will take place at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC), located in the high-tech manufacturing center of Pudong, on March 17-19. The three-day exhibition and technical symposium will offer innovative exhibits and a comprehensive set of business, technical and networking programs.
Launched in 1988, SEMICON China connects China's semiconductor industry with the global SEMI membership. The exposition is the premier semiconductor manufacturing industry trade show in China, showcasing the latest in advanced manufacturing technologies, and offering a wide range of technical and market briefing programs focusing on the latest trends in semiconductor industry. Featuring more than 800 exhibitors occupying more than 2,000 booths, SEMICON China is the largest exposition of its kind in China.
To address deepening global economic concerns, China's central and local governments recently announced investments of up to US$50 billion in regional semiconductor-related projects, which are expected to help drive significant growth in the region's semiconductor, FPD and solar industries up through at least 2020. SEMICON China 2009 will welcome all the attending government delegates, and SEMI commends the Chinese government for its proactive investment toward the future of the industry in the region.
