SMIC Appoints New Non-Executive Director In China
China-based Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation has appointed Zhou Jie as a non-executive director of the company and re-designated Wang Zheng Gang from non-executive director to alternate director to Zhou.
February 2, 2009-- China-based Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation has appointed Zhou Jie as a non-executive director of the company and re-designated Wang Zheng Gang from non-executive director to alternate director to Zhou.
Dr. Richard Chang, president and CEO of SMIC, stated "We believe Mr. Zhou, who will be bringing with him extensive experience in investment banking and capital market operations, will enhance SMIC's standing in major capital markets effectively."
Zhou Jie, 41, is a corporate board addict with a position not only as an executive director and the executive deputy CEO of Shanghai Industrial Holdings Limited, but he is also an executive director and the executive vice president of Shanghai Industrial Investment (Holdings) Co. Ltd. and a director of Shanghai Industrial Pharmaceutical Investment Co. Ltd., Chia Tai Qingchunbao Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., Shanghai Sunway Biotech Co. Ltd., and The Wing Fat Printing Co. Ltd.; a non-executive director of Shanghai Fudan-Zhangjiang Bio-Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd.; and the chairman of the supervisory committee of Bright Dairy and Food Co. Ltd.
Wang Zheng Gang is the chief representative of the Shanghai representative office of Shanghai Industrial Holdings Limited and chairman of SIIC Management (Shanghai) Ltd. He is also the vice chairman of Bright Dairy and Food Co. Ltd. and a director of Shanghai Urban Development (Holdings) Co. Ltd. and Shanghai Hu-Ning Expressway (Shanghai Section) Co., Ltd.
