Recently, Kingdee EAS has passed the stringent test of the Service Oriented Architecture of IBM. It became thus the first ERP product of China that had passed the IBM SOA Specialty Certified. Meanwhile, Kingdee EAS was granted the use right of the Ready for IBM SOA Specialty trademark.

Kingdee EAS of Kingdee adopts the state-of-the-art ERP II management thinking and the advanced platform technical architecture. It is the important platform upgrade and management upgrade of the K/3 product of Kingdee. It is also the first “ERP + middleware” enterprise management software of the country. Kingdee EAS covers such management fields as Group management, Financial management, HR management, Supply Chain Management and Collaboration platform. Oriented chiefly to large- and middle-scale enterprises, it provides the personalized enterprise management and e-commerce application solutions that are most appropriate for the nature of management of the Chinese enterprises.

The current test lasted for two months, spanning from product application, SOA training capability, SOA technology to SOA R&D capability. In the final comment offered by the assessment team, IBM SOA Specialty Certified believed that the EAS solution of Kingdee was a qualified product that complied with the compatibility and integration criteria formulated by IBM. It was plug-and-play to implement platform-irrelevant integration with other application systems that complied with the SOA standards.

Noticeably, in the certification of IBM SOA Specialty Certified, IBM assessor Luo Shun and Joanne Biek were surprised and impressed with the ideal system and structure of Kingdee product based on Kingdee BOS platform. They believed that, on the precondition of satisfying the customer requirements on functionality, Kingdee EAS showed a high compliance with the SOA standards. Compared with other similar products in the country, the edge of its system integration was outstanding. Luo Shun told reports, “We’ve tested many products. Products like the Kingdee EAS that could catch up with the international class are certainly rare in China. ”

In 1996, Gartner first proposed the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). In December 2002, Gartner referred to the SOA “the most-important theme in modern application development”. It predicted that by 2008, SOA would become the dominant software engineering methodology in practice. The statistics and analysis reports provided by key information institutions show that, in the future three to five years, the large- and mid-scale enterprises will have a higher percentage of requirements on system consolidation and business consolidation during the process of IT construction. The pace of increase of such requirements will be getting wider.
