South China's Spiralling Demands for Assembly Technology Attracts Major American Show
Following its successful launch in 2006, Assembly Technology Expo China (ATE China) will return to South China, Guangdong in 2007.
South China's manufacturing industry has shown spectacular growth in recent years resulting in a massive demand for assembly technology. The region holds around a third of China's enormous manufacturing capacity and Guangdong alone is home to 15,000 manufacturing companies. This fervent climate has resulted in a pressing need for an effective platform for the assembly industry in the region. The biggest assembly show in the industry has come to South China to fulfill this need. Following its successful launch in 2006, Assembly Technology Expo China (ATE China) will return to South China, Guangdong in 2007.
Guangdong has been selected as the show's venue because it is the fastest developing area in China, holding around one third of the country's manufacturing capacity. GDP for 2005 reached USD 2.71 trillion, more than that of Singapore and Hong Kong. Furthermore, in the next five years, Guangdong's industrial investment will amount to USD 31.5 billion, focusing on Chemicals, Automotive, Shipbuilding, Metallurgy and Aviation, Machine Tools and Equipment, Electronics and Telecommunications, Electrical Appliances and Medical Devices. The region is home to 300,000 manufacturing enterprises, and the demands for equipment and assembly technology in these industries has surpassed USD 2.5 billion.
Recent trends and policies in Guangdong's key industries have created ever heavier demands on assembly technology. Exhibitors from Automation, Robotics, Tools, Conveyors, Assembly system materials, Machine Vision, Quality System & Machine related industries can expect to find a huge market for their products. In Guangdong's automotive industry for example, production of most new models is planned to reach, or surpass, 50,000 units, a spectacular scale of production that will create massive new demand for automated production lines and equipment. Meanwhile, Guangdong has become the second biggest Medical Devices location in China, and total exports are expected to hit USD 377 million by 2009. In the Electrical Appliance industry, South China now accounts for more than 50% of production with profits continually rising by 13% year on year. In fact, a huge range of industries from System Integrator to OEM solutions, from Manufacturing to Machinery have expressed their interest in this show.
Responding to these unprecedented needs, ATE China has set out to bring together South China's key industries in order to share knowledge, technology, and of course to do business. Currently, it is the only assembly trade event in South China that provides a highly professional, international platform. The show presents visitors with the latest technology and equipment, and the foremost industry players. It allows exhibitors to meet important decision makers and manufacturing professionals in critical roles such as Purchasing Managers, Production and Manufacturing Mangers, Design and Product Development Engineers, Quality Assurors, Technical Professionals, Second-tier Suppliers and System Integrators. Moreover, by joining forces with Quality Expo China, and running concurrently to NEPCON South China/EMT South China & Automotive Electronics South China, it provides access to a vast pool of more than 25,000 visitors and exhibitors in related fields.
Last year's inaugural show was a runaway success. Three and a half thousand industrial visitors from 22 countries attended the show to keep pace with this rocketing industry. They had the opportunity to meet major players from six different countries & regions including Canada, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and USA. The 62 highly esteemed exhibitors included Adept, AIMCO, ATS, Bodine, Bosch Rexroth, Cincinnati, Deprag, De-Sta-Co, Epson, Federal, Han's Laser, Ingersroll Rand, Stanley, SMD, and Yamazen. At the exhibition, some of the most sophisticated technology on the assembly market was on display. The latest generation of automated assembly machines and systems, power tools and hand tools, robots, end effectors, pick-and-place machines, and test and inspection equipment were showcased.
ATE China regards conferences as an important part of its ethos to provide business, technological and networking solutions in one show, so this year there is exciting news. The highly esteemed publication Control Engineering China will build on its excellent reputation for influential seminars and provide a forum that focuses on sensor and system integrator topics. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the latest trends in technology and address problems in application. Also in the pipeline, is a conference on tool application in automotive equipping to be lead by the foremost automotive manufacturers in Mainland China. Discussions are underway to make ATE China 2007 the venue for The 13th Annual technology of Automotive Tools and Equipment, a move sure to excite manufacturers of machine tools, industrial tools and auto parts assembly.
Assembly Technology Expo China 2007 (ATE China) will take place between August 28th and August 31st at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Centre.
