TCL aims for independent innovation
Chinese consumer electronics company TCL Technology Group Corp will stick to independent innovation, increase investment in key technologies including artificial intelligence and digital twin, and build an industrial internet platform to enhance the competitiveness of its industrial chain, said a senior executive of the company.
Wang Cheng, chief operating officer of TCL Technology, said developing digital technologies, promoting the digital transformation of enterprises, and deepening the integration of the digital and real economies is of great strategic significance in advancing new industrialization and bolstering high-quality economic development.
Wang made the remarks at the ongoing first China International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing. He noted that China's manufacturing sector boasts a complete range of categories, providing immense space for propelling the in-depth integration of the digital economy with real economy.
China has the most complete industrial system in the world and maintained its position as the world's largest manufacturing nation for 13 straight years, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The country’s manufacturing output accounted for nearly 30 percent of global total in 2022.
According to him, TCL has ratcheted up efforts to bolster the adoption of intelligent technologies such as AI and big data in production lines, build up digital supply chain system, drive intelligent transformation of manufacturing enterprises in the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain as well as promote the green and low-carbon development of enterprises.
Wang added how digital technologies are speeding up applications in various links of manufacturing and playing an increasingly vital role in helping traditional enterprises reduce costs, improve operational efficiency, and realize transformation and upgrade.
TCL has also showcased its business layout in intelligent terminals; semiconductor displays and new energy photovoltaic; as well as latest products and technology solutions such as quantum dot mini LED TVs, virtual reality glasses, active-matrix organic light-emitting diodes -or AMOLED panels-, and foldable screens at the expo.
