SenseTime gradually resumes normal operations in Shanghai
SenseTime, a leading artificial intelligence company, announced on Wednesday its headquarters in Shanghai has gradually resumed normal operations following weeks of COVID-related lockdowns.
The first batch of SenseTime employees returning to the office come from a variety of areas including digital epidemic prevention, AI data center, smart health, smart auto, R&D and operations teams, the company said in a press release.
To protect the safety of employees returning to work, the company deployed a proprietary system called SenseThunder-Air at the main entrances of the company's headquarters.
The system integrates seven functions - mask detection, temperature screening, health code verification, vaccination record query, nucleic acid report query, electronic-ID verification and the newly added antigen test result query function in response to Shanghai's latest epidemic control requirements.
In the past two months, the SenseThunder-Air has provided epidemic prevention and control support for a temporary hospital in Baoshan district, the industrial parks of Lingang Group and many other public places in Changning and Xuhui districts, improving management efficiency and service quality of these places.
In addition, SenseTime said it has implemented comprehensive safety inspection, strict disinfection procedures, special workplace arrangements and emergency plans to ensure all-round protection for employees.
In Shanghai's Lingang New Area, SenseTime cooperated with Lingang Rapid, the region's public transportation system, to provide logistical support for one of the city's largest makeshift hospitals.
Leveraging SenseTime's experience in autonomous driving shuttles, the minibus fleet has transported anti-epidemic materials and medical staff for a total of 2,000 kilometers and will continue to assist hospitals in their post-epidemic work.
