Tech startup BrainUp, Tsinghua U raise awareness of brain science
Chinese tech startup BrainUp, also known as Naolu Technology, has teamed with the national engineering laboratory for neuromodulation under Tsinghua University to hold an event in Beijing on Tuesday to raise public awareness of brain science.
Scholars and industry leaders were invited to discuss the latest research progress in brain science and how to accelerate the transformation of the research findings to industrial applications.
The company also launched the "Brain Science Landing Program", through which it aims to recruit about 100 young students from well-known universities with an interdisciplinary education background around the world, to encourage innovations in the brain science sector, while launching a new product for sleep inspection and improvement that features human-computer interface technology.
Wang Xiao'an, founder and CEO of BrainUp, said the company hopes to propel the enthusiasm of young talents into the cutting-edge field of brain science through the internship program.
Li Luming, director of the national engineering laboratory for neuromodulation, said as the world faces challenges from aging societies, scientific research and technological innovations are among the important ways to ensure a healthy and dignified life when people get old.
