Project opens new path for global mobility of medical products
A new project, Global Health Link, which aims to facilitate the flow of medical supplies across the world was announced at the ongoing China International Import Expo in Shanghai on Saturday.
An online platform of the project will be up and running by the end of this year.
It will connect parties involved in the global mobility of medical products to bridge information gaps between the supply and demand sides, break the bottleneck in global logistics, and provide authoritative interpretation of standards in different countries.
The project was initiated by Silk Road Cities Alliance, Silk Road Global Information Co, Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center, and China Reform Health Management and Services Group, and joined by many governments, companies and organizations from more than 12 countries, including France, Italy and Malaysia.
Former prime minister of Italy Massimo D'Alema said in a congratulatory video to the project: "It is a matter of promoting a courageous program of cooperation in the fundamental field of the protection of people's health. It is a matter of exchanging experiences and knowledge accumulated during the pandemic, and it is a matter of ensuring the circulation of new technologies, new products and new treatments."
