Grupo Antolin opens headliner plant in Shenyang to supply BMW
Spanish automotive interiors supplier Grupo Antolin has launched production at a new headliner factory in the northeast China city of Shenyang to supply mainly BMW Group.
The plant, with about 200 employees, can produce roughly 4,000 headliners per day, Grupo Antolin said.
BMW’s joint venture with Brilliance China Automotive Holdings is in Shenyang, where the partnership runs two assembly plants.
The Shenyang plant is the second factory Grupo Antolin has opened in China this year and the 14th since it started production in the country in 2005.
In May, it started production at a factory in the southwest China city of Chengdu to produce door panels for Volvo Car Corp.
In January, Grupo Antolin signed a contract with Chinese supplier Wuhan Donghuan Auto Cab System Co. to jointly produce automotive window regulators in China.
Grupo Antolin is investing 900 million euros (7.1 billion yuan) in China between 2017 and 2019.
