VW Group January deliveries climb 16% in China
Volkswagen Group's various brands in January sold 398,600 vehicles in China, a 16 percent increase year on year.
The Volkswagen brand accounted for 296,900 vehicles, or nearly three-fourths of the total, as the marque’s January deliveries rose 9.7 percent year on year on the strength of its Tiguan and Teramont crossovers.
Audi, rebounding from a year-earlier month in which many dealers refused to order new vehicles to protest the brand’s plan to open a second distribution network, had its January sales soar 73 percent year on year to 60,688 vehicles. Audi dropped its plan in May.
VW Group did not release January sales in China, its largest market, for Porsche, Skoda or Lamborghini.
