REV Group to build vehicles with Chery in Wuhu
U.S. special-vehicle maker REV Group is forming a joint venture with Chery Automobile Co. to build recreational vehicles and ambulances in the east China city of Wuhu.
Under the agreement, the joint venture will build an assembly plant in Wuhu.
According to Chery, production at the factory will start in the second half of 2018, with annual output set at more than 5,000 vehicles.
The vehicles will be sold in China and other emerging markets through Chery’s distribution channels.
Chery, based in Wuhu, produces light vehicles under its own brand.
The state-owned automaker also operates two joint ventures in China with Jaguar Land Rover and Singaporean investment company Kenon Holdings.
