BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - China PC and consumer electronics maker Lenovo Group said it has entered the Thai consumer electronics market, the Xinhua news agency reported.
At a trade show in Bangkok, Lenovo unveiled flash drives, MP3 players, digital cameras and web cameras that will be sold in Thailand, Xinhua said.
The news agency cited a Lenovo executive as saying that the product launch in Thailand represents the first step in a series of efforts to expand Lenovo's market reach that will take place over the following days.
Lenovo has authorized ICC International, Thailand's largest distributor, as its sole distributor in Thailand, Cambodia and Laos, according to the report.
Lenovo, which acquired IBM's PC business in 2005, is China's biggest PC maker.
