Geely Auto's deliveries double on demand for 4 new models
Geely Automobile Holdings' sales soared 105 percent from a year earlier to 191,629 vehicles in January and February, as demand remained robust for four new models.
After deliveries surged 71 percent year on year in January, the private Chinese carmaker's sales shot up 167 percent to 88,976 vehicles in February.
The automaker got a major boost from four models introduced last year: the Boyue, Emgrand GS and Vision crossovers, and the Emgrand GL compact sedan.
In February, the four models generated combined sales of 46,238 vehicles, representing 52 percent of Geely's deliveries.
To maintain growth, Geely will introduce at least two crossovers this year: a subcompact for the Geely brand and a compact for the new Lynk & CO marque.
Further details on the company's 2017 product plan are unavailable. Geely hopes to boost sales 32 percent this year to 1 million vehicles.
The company is headquartered in the east China city of Hangzhou and is listed on the Hong Kong exchange. Its parent, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., also owns Volvo Car Corp.
