TI Automotive launches fuel tank plant to supply Great Wall
TI Automotive, a U.S.-based maker of fuel tanks, launched a new factory in China to supply a leading domestic maker of SUVs and crossovers.
The company's 6,900 square-meter facility in Baoding, Hebei province, is producing plastic fuel tanks for a neighboring Great Wall Motors assembly plant.
The plant products Great Wall's Haval SUVs and crossovers.
"The Haval line of vehicles is one of the fastest growing brands in China and Great Wall Motors is the largest manufacturer of SUVs and trucks in China," said Hans Dieltjens, TI's executive vice president of fuel tanks and delivery systems. "Our goal is to support this growth through our product expertise in fuel tank and delivery systems technology and through this new facility."
The Baoding site, which will employ 120 workers at full capacity, is the company's third fuel tank plant and its 17th facility in China.
Based in suburban Detroit, TI Automotive employs 25,000 people at 125 locations in 28 countries.
