Honda deliveries advance 29% in September on crossover demand
Honda Motor Co. has maintained sales growth in China for seven consecutive months, with September deliveries jumping nearly 29 percent year on year to 82,531 vehicles.
The automaker got a lift from the upgraded CR-V crossover and two new crossover models launched in China late last year: the XR-V and the Vezel.
In September, CR-V sales surged nearly 47 percent to 15,696, while 12,033 XR-Vs and 8,422 Vezels were delivered.
In the first nine months of this year, Honda's China sales reached 694,807 vehicles, surging 34 percent from the same period last year.
Last month, Honda opened its fifth Chinese assembly plant in the south China city of Guangzhou, increasing its annual production capacity in China to 1.08 million vehicles.
