Ford July sales fall 6% as skid hits 3 months
Ford Motor Co.'s China sales dropped for the third consecutive month in July as the country's new-car market continued to slow.
Ford and its two joint ventures sold 77,100 vehicles in July, a decline of 6 percent from a year earlier.
Deliveries at Changan Ford Automobile Co., Ford's passenger vehicle joint venture, declined 4 percent to 57,748 vehicles.
At Ford's commercial vehicle partnership, Jiangling Motors Corp., volume slumped 12 percent to 17,109 vehicles.
Last month, sales of imported Ford vehicles across China also dropped 3 percent to 2,243 units.
For the first seven months, Ford sales in China have dropped 1 percent year on year to 620,588 vehicles.
Last week, the all-new Ford Focus arrived at dealership showrooms in China. To revive sales, Ford also will launch the redesigned Ford Taurus later this year.
