Finnish cable supplier PKC to form joint venture with Huakai Wire Harness
PKC Group, a Finnish supplier of wire harness and cable assemblies, says it will establish a joint venture in east China's Jiangsu province.
The 300 million yuan ($49 million) partnership will be equally owned by PKC and Huakai Wire Harness Co., a private company in Danyang in central Jiangsu province. The partnership also will be in Danyang and will supply cables and wire harnesses for trucks and buses.
The joint venture will be PKC's second production operation in China. It has a plant in Suzhou in southern Jiangsu province.
PKC also has production operations in Finland, Brazil, Estonia, Germany, Lithuania, Mexico, Poland, Russia, Serbia and the United States. Last year, sales totaled 829 million euros (7.0 billion yuan).
Huakai produces cables and wire harnesses for trucks, vans, buses and construction equipment. Its main customers include truck maker Beiqi Foton Motor Co., bus maker Xiamen King Long United Automotive Industry Co. and the Chinese joint ventures of Italian van manufacturer Iveco.
