BEIJING (AFX) - Chery Automobile Co, one of China's fastest growing automakers, sold more than 100,000 units in the first four months, the China Securities Journal reported, citing a company official.
Qin Lihong, Chery's vice general manager of sales, told the newspaper that the company has raised its sales target for this year to 300,000 units, from 281,000 units.
Chery Auto sold 185,000 cars in 2005, surging 118 pct from a year earlier.
State media reported last month that the automaker plans to export 30,000-50,000 vehicles this year, compared with 18,000 units in 2005.
